The Marine Society & Sea Cadets

Our role is to provide personal development opportunities and support in a maritime context for young people and professional seafarers from all the sea services.

Equality

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets is an inclusive organization that helps young people and professional seafarers to achieve their potential by offering a range of social and educational opportunities. It is committed to equality of opportunity for young people and adults alike.

As such, no young person or adult should receive less favourable treatment, be excluded from benefiting from our services, nor suffer disadvantage by reason of: class; ethnic origin, nationality or race; gender; age; marital or sexual status; mental or physical ability; political or religious belief.
The Sea Cadet Corps is open to all regardless of sex, religion and race and, within the bounds of safety to themselves and others, to those with special needs. We are proud of the different backgrounds that cadets come from - quite often from the most disadvantaged circumstances. Our cadets are overall 50:50 girls to boys. We seek to ensure that there are no barriers for young people to have the opportunity to be a Sea Cadet.

The organisation is committed to a programme of continuous review and action to ensure that these policies remain effective.
