Instructor, SCTC Weymouth, Dorset

We currently have a vacancy for an Instructor at our Sea Cadet Training Centre based in Weymouth.

The role of the Instructor is to assist the Chief Instructor and his team in the delivery of afloat training which will involve the supervision of, and training delivery to young people. The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with young people and hold the RYA Dinghy Instructor (Coastal), RYA Safetyboat (Coastal), RYA Powerboat Instructor (Coastal) qualifications as a minimum. Knowledge of maintenance would be useful.

Working hours are variable but no more than an average of 44 hours per week as determined by the training programme. The post can be demanding during the sailing season and there is a generous leave entitlement.

Assistant Caterer, SCTC Weymouth, Dorset

We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Caterer at our Sea Cadet Training Centre based in Weymouth.

The successful candidate will become a member of a small but busy catering team. The responsibilities of the post are to assist the Caterer with the operational effectiveness of the catering department and with routine galley duties. Experience of working in a busy catering environment would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be organised, possess strong communication skills and be an excellent team worker with the ability to work unsupervised. It is essential that applicants hold a current Food Hygiene Certificate. City & Guilds 706/1 or NVQ Level 2 (Catering & Hospitality) or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
