The courseware is provided at the discounted rate of £20 and on successful completion the employee will be reimbursed for the costs of this courseware, logbook and tests. The following conditions apply:

The MSSC must receive receipts for each test undertaken and proof of purchase for the logbook and successful completion of the ECDL before any reimbursement of fees can be authorised

Individuals must commit to aiming to acquire the qualification within 12 months from date of enrolling

Studying is to be done in individual’s own time

Reimbursement of fees will apply only to those who have enrolled on this scheme using the ‘ECDL Staff Scheme’ enrolment form. To do so, individuals must be employees of The Marine Society & Sea Cadets at the time of enrolment.

The courseware will be made available to employees for £20. The logbook costs approximately £30. Each of the seven tests also costs approximately £30 each.

The MSSC will reimburse employees thus:

• On completion of the first learning module on the CD-Rom and when they are ready to take the first test, employees apply for a logbook. After successful completion of the first test individuals can apply for reimbursement of the logbook fee and the test fee.

• Employees may them submit to MSSC receipts for each subsequent test for reimbursement to Wendy Francis.

• When all seven tests have been successfully passed application is made to the BCS for the ECDL certificate, citing the stamped logbook as evidence. When the certificate is issued, MSSC will refund the original £20 paid for the courseware.

Just complete the enrolment form (this can be downloaded by clicking on the icon below) and return it to Wendy Francis at MSSC HQ along with the payment for the CD-Rom (£20 payment to be made in favour of ‘The Marine Society & Sea Cadets’).
