There are many ways to continue your education as a member of the Sea Cadet Corps.

The College of the Sea website represents a one-stop shop which offers signposts to some of the most common routes to personal development.

From this summer those who work with and for the Sea Cadet Corps can apply for access to the Defence Learning Portal - Europe's biggest e-learning facility.

Meanwhile there is the new Open University Foundation Degree in Working With Young People. First enrolments were last autumn. Enrolments are shortly about to take place for September 2008 entry.

And you can get this worthwhile qualification for free by means of Marine Society & Sea Cadets sponsorship in the form of an Admiral Tippet Memorial Scholarship.

Pat McManus is one of many of our colleagues who started studying the MSSC's Open University Foundation Degree Working With Young People in September last year. Like the others, her studies - completed entirely by distance learning - are being fully funded by the MSSC by means of an Admiral Tippet Memorial Scholarship.
