Access

Each individual learner is issued with a non-transferable licence. Once issued, that licence stays with the individual, and a personal record of activity is built up in the online learner management system.

At the present time MSSC has only a limited number of licences to issue to the SCC. And it's important that those individuals who we do licence actually make use of the facility in a constructive fashion. Individuals' activity on the DLP will be monitored by the MSSC.

Before applying to us for access it's therefore incumbent upon individuals to think carefully about their learning needs and the use to which they propose to put their licences.

It's felt that the DLP holds most appeal to adults at this time, so we are confining access to those over 18, though will lower to 16 in exceptional cases.

A decision whether or not to grant a licence to an individual will be taken by the Education & Adult Learning team at MSSC HQ on a needs evaluation basis.

Serving members of HM Forces

Serving members of the armed services, and those recently retired, can access the DLP by dint of their status: they should not request a licence from MSSC.

However, they should still complete our DLP Access Request (DAR) form so that access to the SCC domain within the DLP can be added to their user account.

Nobody will have access to the SCC domain within the DLP without coming through MSSC.

So, as a member of staff or volunteer with the SCC, how do I apply for access to the DLP?
