What's in it for me?

Though the primary intended audience is members of the nation's armed services, there is already much in the DLP of potential interest to the SCC.

With a choice of over 600 courses from which to choose, users can select what they want to learn and when.

Whilst some courses are directly relevant to those who work with the SCC, others can be used to develop knowledge and underpin skill sets used in everyday life.

Course length varies from minutes to days, weeks, or months. A great feature is that learners can pick and mix courses, dipping in and out as they please and as their interests and needs evolve. The learner is in control of his/her personal learning potfolio at all times.

All the courses in the DLP are approved by the MoD and it is the MoD which sets the quality standard of the learning experience. And those standards are high. The courses are clear and easy to understand, with the learner intuitively guided through the process of completing each course. Quizzes and interactive activities are often included in the course content making it fun and interesting to learn.

Although SCC learners will be able to browse through all the courses available on the DLP, we've carefully highlighted some courses that may be especially beneficial. These courses are grouped into categories, with a short explanation about the course and who may find it particularly useful. This selection is under continuous review, and comments made by SCC colleagues who complete courses will be shared.
The MSSC has compiled a selection of courses presently in the DLP thought to hold most appeal to our colleagues in the SCC. This list (PDF: 250kb) is not meant to be comprehensive and will be subject to continual review. DLP-user feedback will be incorporated in future editions.
