The Marine Society

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets provides personal development opportunities and support in a maritime context for young people and professional seafarers from all the sea services.

At this very moment more than 43,000 gargantuan ships are navigating their way across the world's oceans, carrying nearly all the raw materials and products on which our lives as an island nation depend.

The Sea Cadets is jointly sponsored by its national charity, The Marine Society & Sea Cadets, and the Royal Navy. Whilst there is significant support from the Royal Navy for training activities, the national charity needs to raise about £1.5 million annually from voluntary contributions towards the additional elements of the support, management and training structure for the Sea Cadets. This includes the Sea Cadet offshore fleet, training centres and boating stations around the UK.

All money raised enables us to provide opportunities to explore a huge variety of educational activities based on a nautical theme and gain confidence in their everyday lives.

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets needs your support to help the seafarers who are carrying forward the great maritime tradition of our nation.

As a member you will be making an important contribution to supporting our work with young people and seafarers and with Branches of The Marine Society & Sea Cadets around the country, there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy social and fundraising events.
