Head of Sea Cadets Training Development, based London, SE1 7JW

 

We are currently seeking to appoint a Head of Training Development to work as part of the lifelong learning team in our head office, located near Waterloo in London. This is a permanent full time position.

This is an exciting and challenging role which will require you to be the lead on all Sea Cadets training development, ensuring innovation in our training programme in line with best practice in the education sector.

You will lead, inspire and manage a small team of three training development professionals to develop key learning resources for our 14,000 young people and our 9,000 volunteers delivering and supporting the sea cadet experience. You will also functionally manage 20 volunteers, who are the volunteer leads for each of our individual training activities which are delivered UK-wide.

The successful candidate should have:

  • a strong background in education and/or youth development
  • a strong track record of developing innovative training solutions
  • excellent project and programme management skills, with the ability to work to time, quality and budget
  • the ability to work as a team, coaching and managing team members to achieve excellence
  • proven experience of delivering a programme of work to time, quality and cost
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • the ability to inspire others, think strategically, and be business focused
  • the ability to work with and motivate volunteers to support their training development work
