Seasonal Senior Instructor, Royal Docks Boat Station, based Royal Docks, London, E16 2QT

 

This is a fixed term full-time position, from early March until 31st October 2017

We are currently seeking enthusiastic water sports instructors to deliver and facilitate training at our growing facility in East London. In this role you will responsible for leading the delivery of our schools programmes as well as supporting the Chief Instructor supervising and delivering instruction to cadets and adults.

The successful applicant will be experienced at delivering enjoyable, effective and safe learning for young people in the outdoors. You will hold an RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor qualification and it is desirable you hold at least one other qualification from the following: RYA Powerboat Instructor; UKCC L1 Paddlesport Coach; UKCC Level 2 Rowing Coach. Experience and knowledge of routine boat maintenance would be useful but not essential.

The centre itself is based at the Royal Docks in East London, utilising both the large enclosed dock basins as well as the river Thames. The centre has recently undergone a rebuild and excellent new facilities are matched with a large investment in water sports equipment. We deliver a wide variety of training including school sessions, one-off tasters, cadet and adult NGB training courses as well as events and off-site trips.

The hours of work are variable but will average 44 hours a week over the duration of the contract. There is a requirement for flexible working (including weekend and evening work) as determined by the training programme.
