Salary £7.83 per hour
We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated female supervisor to provide overnight supervision to cadets’ aged 12-18 attending residential training courses at our facility in Caledonia, working in conjunction with the male supervisor.
This is a one year, fixed term position.
It is a part time role, for 90 days per annum, in support of the centre’s planned training programme which will include some weekend and weeknight working. Hours of work will be variable, but will average 16 hours per day.
In this role you will responsible for discharging Marine Society and Sea Cadets’ duty of care to young people, as directed by and in support of the Commanding Officer, SCTC Caledonia.
You will be experienced at working with young people including positive ways to address challenging behaviour, and you will have experience of delivering fun and safe activities for young people outside of formal training periods. You will demonstrate maturity and professionalism, and be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work. You will hold a full, clean driving licence, preferably with D1 and experience of driving a minibus.
Some knowledge or experience of the Sea Cadets would be useful, but is not essential.
The successful candidate will be passionate about working with young people and want to put their skills and knowledge in to practice as part of our team.
We have an operational requirement to maintain appropriate male to female ratios of overnight supervision for our 12 to 18 year old cadets, so we are only recruiting for a female Overnight Supervisor at this time.
The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is the nation’s largest maritime charity and the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation comprising some 400 or so volunteer Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK.
The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective – to foster good citizenship in the community.
The centre is located within MoD CALEDONIA at Rosyth, which currently supports the build of the Royal Navy’s new aircraft carriers in addition to other accommodating other lodger units.
The training centre is open for 50 weeks of the year and offers an interesting and diverse programme of afloat and shore based training to adults and young people. The main portion of this is for Cadet training (12 to 18 year olds).
