Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK.  The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective – to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

We are seeking to appoint a Cook for TS Royalist, a 32-metre sail training vessel based at Gosport.  The vessel undertakes 6-day voyages for up to 24 Cadets at a time, and travels around the UK throughout the sailing season.

Applicants should have the requisite experience and ability to cook at sea, to provide meals for the embarked crew, together with the ordering and management of food stores.

As Cook, you will be responsible, for provision of sustaining and nourishing meals for the crew (max numbers onboard 34).

Catering experience and experience of working with young people plus good communication skills are essential requirements for the role, as well as qualifications in food hygiene, and first aid.

The ability to work effectively with permanent and relief crew members and young people is essential.
