Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK.  The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective – to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

Marine Society and Sea Cadets are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Outdoor Education professional to join our Inshore Boating team.  We use boating activities in Dinghy Sailing, Paddlesport, Powerboating, Rowing and Windsurfing to teach life skills and develop young people ready for life today. This exciting opportunity of Assistant Head of Inshore Boating will  see the successful candidate working as part of a dynamic team spread out across the country with a sole focus of supporting our volunteers in delivering safe, enjoyable yet challenging boating as part of the Sea Cadet Experience.

The ideal candidate will be qualified to RYA Dinghy Coach Assessor, Powerboat/Windsurf Trainer or British Canoeing Coach Educator and holding at least one other NGB boating instructor award. You will also have experience of working with volunteers and/or youth development in a charity setting. 

Using your Industry Experience, you will support water sports programmes, lead the development of our organisation wide operating procedures, and co-ordinate and help deliver our boating instructor training programme.

As part of the Inshore Boating team you will also help lead our support and assurance of the charities fleet of 8,000+ boats, and of boating delivery across our 400 Sea Cadet units and 8 regional boat stations.
